After the huge popularity of the Alpha Performance Porsche 997.1TT Intercooler system, Modbargains is pleased to announce the release of the 997.2TT Intercooler System.  Porsche 997.2TT owners now have the option to support their builds with the efficiency of Alpha's 5.5 inch thick intercooler cores, a 2.5 inch cast aluminum y-pipe, carbon fiber ducts and high strength custom 5 ply silicone couplers.

Computer aided-creates maximum results

Alpha's engineering team designed the Alpha 997 intercooler end tanks with extremely smooth features and geometry for the best flow resulting in the most hp from your Porsche.  Using the latest programs, Alpha has created end tanks with improved flow over boxy sheet metal end tanks found on other intercoolers. 

No Compromises

Channeling cool air to the intercoolers is vital for the best performance of any intercooler.  Some manufactures choose to remove the factory intercooler inlets in order to cut costs.  When doing this, you greatly reduce the effectiveness of any intercooler, whether its larger or not.  Others require that you cut up and tape the factory shrouding to the intercooler core in an attempt to seal the shroud to the intercooler core.  While this is slightly better than removing the shroud, it still is not the most effective way to boost performance.

The graph above helps illustrate the Porsche 997.2 Turbo's intake air temps stock vs. the Alpha Intercoolers.  The Porsche made four consecutive 4th gear pulls and one 5th gear pull at the end.  With the run on the stock intercoolers, the car closed the throttle bodies and shut the run down on the 5th gear pull because the ECU detected temps were too high.

Even with shorter cool down time between runs with the Alpha intercoolers, they still maintained lower IAT's throughout every single run.  All tests were done back to back on the same day, same dyno and in the exact same conditions with two fans blowing directly into the intercooler inlets.  On the street, cooling efficiency will be increased due to an increase in airflow/velocity reaching the intercoolers.

Keeping Cool

Another huge contributor to the intercooler system is the computer designed intercooler piping.  Alpha created a cast aluminum y-pipe offering 40% more flow.  Plus, the larger diameter of the pipe is massive compared to stock(2.5 inches vs. 1.79) and is powder coated black to help provide lasting durability.

To further increase airflow, Alpha's engineering team went a step further by computer designing precisely molded, custom silicone couplers.  These provide perfect fitment and optimized geometry for improved airflow volume and velocity providing up to a 30hp gain and much quicker boost response helping stay ahead of the competition.  Last but certainly not least is the piping's ability to maintain cooling efficiency as more power producing upgrades are added to your Porsche 997.2TT
