What is a ""Stone"" Finish and why it is so unique:
The HRE Stone Finishes are some of the most unique finishes that you will ever see in the wheel market. This beautiful look is achieved through a couple of steps. First, the raw wheels are placed in a tumbler to create the subtle texturized look in the grain of the aluminum. Next, the wheels are sprayed with a transparent powdercoat (usually with a color tint) so you can still see the stone finished grain of the metal. The powdercoat naturally has a high gloss finish and creates a look that is truly unique.
The Frozen Stone Finishes require one additional step. The Stone Finish powdercoated wheel receives a special Satin Clear Coat. This final stage gives the wheel a stofter pattern and almost looks anodized.

The HRE R101 is a monoblock forged aluminum wheel, sometimes referred to as a ""One-Piece"" design (mono = one). This name indicates that the wheel was milled out of a single piece of T6-6061 aluminum that has been compressed and stamped into the rough shape of the wheel. This gives the grain structure of the metal high strength along the spokes and barrel of the wheel. The actual spokes and barrel are then cnc machined into the exact wheel shape. This process makes the HRE R101 extremely light and durable, able to withstand even the toughest tracking conditions.
