fitment and build quality
It's been a long time since I got this lip, I ended up never using it due to quality issues. The fitment of the lip is not good. When I took the lip to a car shop, lifted the car and tried to fit it under the bottom of the front bumper there were tiny gaps underneath it. I have to push the lip really hard towards the bumper to reduce the gap on the left side. But then I will have gaps underneath the right side of it. It makes me wonder even if I pull off the front bumper and try to fit it will it really fit? Even if it finally fits, will it cause damage to my front bumper?
The lip itself only has 3 pre drilled holes in the middle for the bottom piece of carbon fiber splitter. If you want to securely fit the entire lip you have to measure and drill additional 4 holes on both left and right side of the lip which in my opinion should've been done at the factory. The carbon fiber itself is not good quality, when I got the lip I spotted multiple miss matching carbon fiber patterns on multiple spots of the lip. I contacted sales they say it's normal that the carbon will have imperfection, which I get it, after all it's not a $1000+ aftermarket piece, but I did ended up getting a similar designed carbon fiber lip from another aftermarket car parts shop which only cost me 500 plus shipping, which the build quality is way better, I don't have to pull of the entire bumper to fit the lip, and it fits perfectly. There are pre drilled holes to the lip, and there are no miss matching carbon patterns on the carbon fiber(ps: check out ThicWips youtube channel you'll find out how easy it was for an experienced guy to install that lip.).
But considering I don't have the tools and the skill I have to let a car shop do it and it's very costly, because they have to pull off the bumper and drill the holes and install it which will cost(about $400-500) just to fit this lip on. Overall it's risky to buy this lip, considering all the hustle and extra money you have to pay to get this on your M2.
Last but not least I have been in contact with the customer service multiple times, I've also sent multiple pictures to them about the build quality and fitment issue. They insist that as long as I pull off the front bumper and try to fit it it will definitely fit, and the carbon pattern mismatching is normal.
