The biggest wing in APR's inventory, the GTC-500 Carbon Fiber Adjustable Wing, measures 71 inches. The GTC-500 is ideal for high speed touring applications because of its designed 3D airfoil form, which provides plenty of downforce without adding undue drag. Every wing in the GTC Series has an aerodynamic, 3D-designed airfoil shape for the best possible downforce balance. This design preserves the optimal amount of downforce while permitting a decrease in drag. This wing's aerodynamic design was validated via the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study.
Lightweight and robust carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite materials make up each GTC Series airfoil. Pre-pregnated braided carbon fiber sheets provide these airfoils their exceptional strength and low weight. All CFRP airfoils are manufactured in premium aluminum billet molds utilizing pre-pregnated composite production techniques, such as vacuum bagging and high-temperature autoclaving.
10mm "aircraft grade" 6061 billet aluminum pedestals with a smooth black powder coat finish support the airfoils.
