| The Alpha Performance Mercedes 5.5L Biturbo Carbon Fiber Intake System was completely engineered to be a less restrictive intake system to better serve the upgraded 5.5L Biturbo(M157) equipped Mercedes. When running the Alpha 7 package, air restriction in the intake can cause power loss. Luckily Alpha has created a solution to provide increased gains whether stock or running the Alpha 7 package. Considerably larger than anything currently available, your AMG will benefit from improved air flow dynamics and greater efficiency. When designing, Alpha increased the cross-sectional area of the air box filter by a whopping 41 percent! In addition, the cross-sectional area of the inlet was increased by 20 percent, with the outlet increasing to 25 percent. Each of the three sections were proportionally scaled to these sizes in order to reduce bottle-necking within the system. Unlike other intake systems or air filter upgrades, Alpha designed it to work with stock power to over 1000 horespower with greater efficiency than just increasing the size of the stock dimensions alone. This means that the Carbon Fiber intake system of the Mercedes 5.5L Biturbo system is a great mod regardless of how stock or modified your vehicle is. Construction of the air box cover, intake and outlet piping consist of prepreg carbon fiber, which is then autoclave cured. Larger front inlet ducts and air box bases to facilitate increased air flow. High quality, custom-molded silicone couplers will also be included to complete the circuit. Inlet couplers are wire-reinforced and stand no chance of separating from the silicone.
