RAYS Engineering (Volk Racing Forging Technology):
Step #1 (Hot Forging):
The essence of RAYS forging technology begins with the use of RAYS 10,000-ton forging machine.This machine presses the actual spoke design into the billet. This results in a much stronger spoke than other forged wheels.
Step #2 (RM Forging):
The RAYS RM800 machine helps increase production efficiency by combining the Finish Forging process with Rim Spinning.
Step #3 (Heat Treatment):
Solution treatment then contributes to the forging process as alloy is rapidly heated and using special thermal treatment equipment. The alloy is then quickly cooled down and set to form a stronger structure.
- A Hardness Test machine is used in order to evaluate if the heat treatments have ratified the wheel to extremely high standards.
Step #4 (Machine Work):
An NC cutting device with an accuracy of one hundredth of a millimeter is used throughout the machining process in order to improve accuracy of the roundness of the wheel. After bolt pattern machine process is completed all the flashes are carefully removed.
Step #5 (Shot Blasting):
The wheel then goes through a shot blasting process which improves surface smoothness before powder coating of the wheel and surface finishing.
Step #6 (Surface Finishing):
The final step is either a spray coated (powder coated) or clear coated finish to protect the surface of the wheel.
