""I used to go through brakes often on my BMW. I would drive aggressively on the track or through the canyons. I was under maintenance with BMW so I didn't have to pay for them. It was still a hassle because it seemed like they should last longer than that. Well, eventually my maintenance plan ran out. Next time when my brakes were due, I paid the extra for OEM thinking that they are better because they are more expensive and are OE BMW. They lasted the same amount of time. The rusty and boring plain rotors needed replacement once again.

This time I talked to some experts and found out that there were other options out there. These options are developed with enthusiasts in mind, whether it be track driving or just wanting a clean street car. Most of the known aftermarket brands had low brake dust, rotors that would have less of a rusty look and were cheaper! I was skeptical to say the least. It just didn't add up for me.

So I bought the Stoptech Sport kit and had them installed. Till I sold that car, I did not have to replace the brakes. I did the same type of driving and the performance was as promised. I had to clean my wheels less and my rotors would not look heavily rusted. Next time, I would forego the free maintenance plan brakes and get the Stoptech since that would save me on the hassle of taking it to the dealer as well. I hope nobody else makes the same mistake as I did and pay the high price for the oem brakes when there are much smarter alternatives available.""
